ABOUT US

Mentors in medicine

A medical career is hard and rife with challenges. It takes a lifetime to learn how to cope with the difficulties that medicine invariably throw your way whether they’re personal challenges, career decisions and dilemmas, or burnout in a global pandemic.

Regardless of where we are on our medical journey, empathetic guidance can help us navigate these struggles and make life substantially easier. In the UAE we have the unique advantage of being a very diversely educated medical workforce in all specialties, from several emirates to several continents.

To take full advantage of such varied expertise, we in Mentors in Medicine, hope to cultivate a sustainable, homegrown mentorship culture that can be mutually rewarding to both mentee and mentor.

Our mission is to connect budding doctors with more experienced, compassionate Emarati mentors that have been in their shoes, share their values and understand their unique circumstances.

An effective mentor can be a sympathetic ear, a voice of reason, a point of reference and more. They will challenge what you know, give you new perspectives and solutions, and help you steer your career. We hope this will support your personal and professional growth as you bloom into the doctor you aspire to be and find your distinguished role in the Emarati medical cavalry.
